Re: Any goals (musically) for next year?

Can you imagine what Old Skool would of been like if the producers back then all had Music Theory? Now there's a thought.

Even a fraction of it can help massively in your own music. Never too old to learn a new instrument or to study the fundamentals.

Re: The state of DJ'ing nowadays...

Never really been fussed on how tunes are mixed. All about the music for me. To be honest I'd rather hear a synced set than someone who is trying to beat match, that's just my taste as I lost the love of DJ'ing years ago. That's not to say I wouldn't be impressed with a DJ doing it the Old Skool way...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

Ron, what's your favourite Kraftwerk tune? What about Jean-Michel Jarre? I kinda grew up listening to him as my dad and one of my older brothers were into him and loads of weird, uncool electronic music (and dodgy easy listening) I really like Aerodinamik, that's a newer one (so simple but so rich ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

I think other tastes in music make you more diverse as a producer. You can clearly tell people who only love one genre and their attempts to make the same music can sound very one dimensional. I have a guilty pleasure of Swing music. Love love love it. One of my favourite bands has to be the "Royal ...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

I have to confess (due to my age) that I am not overly familiar with Kraftwerk and their signature sound so from a fans point of view what album would be a good start for me to delve into the world of Kraftwerk? Thanks I'd also add their Electric Cafe album from 1986, probably one of their more acc...

Re: An answer i had from Jack Smooth..

You may of seen this Ron but if you haven't enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv09NXOyOoU Around the 14 min mark you can clearly hear the sound of Techno, and what a fantastic sound that is.... I imagine it would of been mind blowing to hear this live for the first time. I have to confess (due ...

Re: Jack Smooth interview

Morning chaps, All I have done is answer some questions honestly and accurately (I didn't seek the publicity, it came asking). I was truthful but I was actually quite reserved given the detail I could have gone into, which would have been considerably more unpleasant for the people in question and ...

Re: Tunes that still smash it.....

For me I am going back to 91.

Just upped this to the TUBE!

Cracking piano house vocal track on Debut (Which is an excellent label)

This track sounds more like an early to mid 92 house/techno.

Proper rushy driving tune! SMASH IT!

Re: Hardware

Hey Wax, all good here thanks. You?

Try looking on eBay at going rates etc.

Also I'm not sure if you are on Facebook but there are a few groups "Synthesizer Freaks" that will happily point you in the right direction or even a sale.

Good luck. :D
