Can you think of any tunes that get praised as being Epic...

... back in the day which, in reality, were not? I recall having a conversation with someone about Do it Together by Sacred. The person claimed it was the original which got played the most on the pirates. It might just be my area (London), but the original was dropped and trashed as soon as the rem...

Urban Shakedown Sample ID (Do it Now - Stab and Break)

I'm having a brain fart moment and can't for the !@$%!! life of me remember what the break ID is for the loop used in Do it Now, and also, where the stab is from -- if it's not from the original break.

This should be easy enough, so fingers crossed!

Cheers guys.

Re: Which sequencers did the oldskool pioneers use?

As I posted above, their setup was two Amiga's, giving them 8 tracks. I know Do It Now was done on 8 tracks, can't be 100% sure if Some Justice was, but someone on discogs claims it was done with 8... "Some Justice was actually written on two Amigas. To synchronise them they had a pattern of clicks ...

Re: How to get a good bassline in FL Studio?

For D&B, Massive.
It's one of the best/most commonly used options, mostly due to it's performance LFO's, although I should note FL studio has something called the Love Philter, which does the same thing.

Re: Which sequencers did the oldskool pioneers use?

Urban Shakedown mostly used two Amiga's, having to sync the two by pressing play on both machines at the same time.

Legal (ish) adivce on renting issue.

I have a bit of an issue with the flat I am renting, I have … destroyed it. Well, that's a little over the top, but I will most likely have to replace the carpet, most furnishings (which are the landlords) and repaint the place, possibly new bits in the bathroom, not nothing extreme as structural....

Re: 33 or 45 - Opinions Needed

Could be. The tune unfortunately uses famous samples which have been used at all types of speeds which is causing this confusion over it. The Roller break (Prodigy one) for example has been used at all speeds so it's tuff as hell to pin it down. What I was trying to listen to was the subs, cos past ...

Re: Sacred Do It Together (what's the vocal from?)

Yeah that's the one everyone points out. I guess it's possible it's an original vocal. He did after all work under One Tribe with Gem (whoever she is) so it's a possibility it's not from anything. The Cut & Run remix seems to use a really lowfi sample for the remix, you can hear it's almost tr...

Would be bloody interesting if we could confirm this.
Do we have any leads on the tune or pressing plant?
