He was much better 'live' than on tape.
Definitely too focused on the '93 stuff though.

Re: What's the moodiest rave/club you've been too?
Bagleys. Moody as fcuk. Club UN was just as bad, perhaps even worse. Wasn't Club UN in Tottenham? Not surprised if so. That area is SHADY! yes Club UN was in Tottenham and Tottenham was far worse in the 90's than what it is now. I had a few friends that were from Tottenham and they told me not to g...

Re: Little Giant Music
One of the most underrated labels out there.
Rhythm Zone - On My Mind is my favourite though it's a tough choice.

Also has the fabled A Tortoise Called Hardcore... Wonder if Hardcore is still alive lol?

Re: Oldskool DJ's that get overlooked, but...
Regarding the Ellis Dee / Mickey Finn shit mixing debate, I'd be surprised if most people even knew where tunes started & finished back then, I know I certainly didn't. All nights were drug fuelled affairs where you'd recognise a few tunes which we'd now mainly class as anthems but the rest was just...

Carl Cox was the biggest name at any event in 92/93 in my opinion.

Re: What anthems weren't that big bitd?
Trumpton Remix was definitely played a few times at Book Of Love, can't remember which DJ's. I remember it most from Slipmatts set at Fantazia NYE at Littlecote House. Raving I'm Raving was played by DJ SS at Summertime & as gash as the tune is, it was amazing at the time. The whistles, horns & nois...

Re: Andy C Interview
This sums it up for me about how new / chaotic it all seemed back then. None of the trainspotter detail 20 odd years of hindsight brings today. “They were mad times back then,” he continues. “I basically lived in Boogie Times [record shop], I used to finish school, jump on me BMX and ride down to Bo...

Re: Big bad bass
Jeez Thrash that is annoying. Was it a fat system at Tribal Gathering? Best system I heard at a rave, though people I know who went to Fantazia 'Showcase' reckon' that was best / loudest they ever heard. Remember on the way home discussing how my inner ear started rattling during Riders set, didn't...

Re: Big bad bass
Grooverider knackered my left eardrum playing Cloud 9 - You Got Me Burnin' at Tribal Gathering. It's vibrated ever since whenever listening to really loud bass on a proper system, which is annoying.
