https://youtu.be/OYvZYmwwylQ 'Mixed Truth'- Ragga Twins The first hardcore tune that i bought back in 1991 from a small record shop over the road from my school. Not one of their more well known tracks, but i think its half decent. I think i was still sort of clinging to my hip hop sensibilities as...

Haha! I'd like to check this one out too after reading the notes. http://www.discogs.com/Rhythm-For-Reasons-The-Grand-National/release/405783 I think we need to balance things up a bit with a counter thread to celebrate the good Formation tracks, there are so many. The description sounds similar to...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E96YBTDVsXE This has to be the ultimate surely? I've said it before on here, but i honestly thought the decks and/or the mixer were on their last legs when i heard it on a mix tape. SO messed up. SO, SO messed up it defies all logic. I can't even believe it got press...

'Old Skool' Nu Skool Breaks
No - not Rave Breaks or bad Breaks bootlegs of the classics, just 'old' Nu Skool Breaks from 2005, arguably the 1993 of breaks of the 'Nu' variety! A couple more of mine from the loft: https://soundcloud.com/justin-sturman-1/atomsmasher-renegade-fm-march-2005 https://soundcloud.com/justin-sturman-1/...

Re: The state of DJ'ing nowadays...
Given that my decks are in the loft and i have no space to set them up, i've started messing around with Cross DJ on my tablet....and i'm really enjoying it. I'm intending to use it at a friends party at the end of the month, even though i'm taking my decks down there..... It took a while to realise...

Re: Seeing as the youth of today are...
We were wandering around Spitalfields at the weekend and ended up in a vintage market on Brick Lane..... One of the stalls had a whole rack of button-down Ralph Lauren shirts, the likes of which i hadn't seen since 1995. All the colours of the rainbow! But to the point above - i agree. 'Neon Ninetie...

Re: What's the moodiest rave/club you've been too?
I used to spent the majority of my time in Club UK either at Final Frontier or the house nights on a Saturday which both were like a proper indoor rave. The more jungle orientated clubs like UN or Bagleys just seemed moody in comparison. Agreed. Club UK was about as unmoody as you could get. Happy ...

Re: What's the moodiest rave/club you've been too?
I went to Club UN in about 1997 for an 'old skool' night and thought it was fine.... I recall going to SW1 around the same time and thinking it was a bit moody - mainly due to the garage back room which consisted of geezers lining the walls watching girls dance in the middle. Beyond that the only is...

Funnily enough I heard the 'non-illegal' version on Bryan Gee @ Dreamscape 4 at the weekend....Restless wrote: "Raving I'm Raving" - Same thing. Never heard it once. Well, maybe once or twice. Certainly not like it gets played post '92.
Even worse than the original.

Post your oldest of Old Skool mixes here......
I've posted a few mixes in the mix section that I recorded from tapes in a shoebox in my loft - but this one is from 1994 and was recorded about 10 months after i'd bought my Soundlab DLP1600's. Recorded at a birthday party, on my own decks that i'd lugged to a small bar on the side of legendary aci...

Re: Harthouse Records...
Harthouse always reminds me of having a mix in my mates parents wasp infested garage around 1996. He was well into his techno..... Love me a bit of Hardfloor - formulaic after a while but what a formula. I'll probably get slated, but Yeke Yeke is a fucking tune. As is Hard trance Aceperience and the...

Hmmm. He still knows how to put a decent hook together, but it's a load of noisy nonsense beyond that.
Has any of the new album charted? Do the youngsters like it??
