Bluntman
Bluntman (aka g on the B2VOS forum) started in 91 with Incantation & Perception, progressed through the Midlands hardcore club scene such as Spectrum at the Institute and Coast to Coast. When the scene split, very dark D&B became predominant in the Midlands, so Bluntman drifted into Hard House and Trance, now some 6 years later on - thanks to the Everything starts with an E site and the B2VOS site - he's back, "coming on strong with the strength of a hurricane"! the_gee_ster@hotmail.com

Chronic
Having started his DJ life playing Handbag House in his student union bar in ‘94, the young Chronic soon learnt that there was far more to DJing than playing Strike-U sure do three times in a set then dropping in a bit of the Jackson 5. Chronic quickly progressed to playing nights such as Crunch in the West Midlands and Help in Crete where his musical style became more orientated towards breakbeat and trance.

Chronic basically missed out on the whole Rave scene, but whilst ploughing through his mate’s record collection he realised just how fucking good some of those old tunes are – he has never looked back… phil_home@blueyonder.co.uk

Tony @ Resonance
Tune Selection: 6/10 darker/early drum & bass

Mixing Ability: 6/10 ok but crossing difficult tunes

Overall Feel: 6/10 changes direction several times

Total = 18

Mike Ainley
Tune Selection: 9/10 Great intro tune. Lots of unheards - keeps the interest high. Minimal anthem dropping, always a good idea!

Mixing Ability: 6/10 Competent, slight fluffs.

Overall Feel: 9/10Unknown tunes are always great in a set, slight errors in the mixing but nothing serious - good effort.

Total = 24

DJ Jedi

Tune Selection: 7/10 Nice to see a set of pretty much unique tunes in the competition, although I've got to admit I don't like a lot of tunes played here. They go together pretty well mostly and there's a few tunes there I'm glad to see, but not really my cup of tea on the whole.

Mixing Ability: 6/10 Not too bad, a few fade outs etc which don't sound great, and the mixes go out of time in a few places. Also a lot of the tunes are played way too slow (champion sound and the Q-Tex tunes most noticably) so they don't sound particularly good in the mix, not particularly well planned if you ask me (or maybe the DJ prefers them played slow?)

Overall Feel: 6/10 I'm sure some people will like it, but personally I'm not too keen on the tunes or the style of mixing, there's plenty of other sets in the competiton which are much better planned out and more interestingly mixed. As with a couple of the other mixes it's a bit boring in places.

Total = 19

Overall Score = 61
